The care-packages Dinos

Post by Astaroshe on Fri Jun 03, 2016 2:57 am

As announced previously we plan to give every player who wants it, a small package of items (material for a small hut, some basic metal tools etc) to ease your start. While the contents of those packages are mostly decided and finished we do have one addition where we would like your opinions as well. We did consider giving out a free dino for every player who requests it as a small compensation for the losses due to the wipe. However there are still some questions about that regarding how we handle this exactly. You can choose from any dino that existed before Patch 242, so that is quite a big list and freedom of choise for you. Our question is if we allow you to freely choose the level of those dinos as well, or if we either limit the level and if so how we apply those limits.
For thise we have several Options:
1) No limit: Just choose your dino and level freely
2)Limited by "Tier" based on the level the saddle requires we would build up a level-restriction, which means choosing a dino that has a low lvl saddle would get a higher max lvl than a rex/giga. This would set a fair balance for payers choosing lower lvl "workforce-dinos" to players that choose "high-lvl-damage dealers".
3)Limited by Kibble requirements. On this limit system we set a required kibble as the limitation value (based of 1x taming efficeny) which means if we for example choose a "50 kibs required" limit this would mean that most dinos would have a full lvl 120 as max level to choose while some of the really end-game tames would get limited. Since Herbs normally use way more than carnivores the suggestion would be to limit those seperately. for Example with those settings you'd get all dinos at max level xept those guys:
Carn max 50 kibble, herbs max 90 kibble.
Bronto at max 52
Parcer at max 90
Stego at max 100
Rex at max 110
Spino at max 112
quetz at max 43
plesi at max 60
Mosa at max 27
Giga at max 93

Thats it for the level-choses we also have another optional topic to vote one which covers the color of those dinos.
Here we have the option of
a) The color you get if the random color that happens when we spawn that dino in for you
b) The color will be edited by us. Here keep in mind that this is still restricted to colors that those dinos could have normally as well. This also affects the specific color regions! (for example a spino can have purple on his fins-top-row and on the spots around his mouth and spikes, but not on his main body)

To choose your options easy the Poll works in a double setting vote. The Number is dedicated to the level limits while the letter is for coloring. "2a)" would mean level resticted by saddle lvl and no color-opion 2b) the same with colors

If you have another suggestion for the level-restrictions let us know and we will check that one out and may set up the vote again

Small explanation since the has been some confusion: In every case the level limit means that this is the limit of the level of the dino we spawn in. After that we tame that dino with the dotame command. (this means that we most likely will have to reduce the basic level of dino at lvl 120 by 1 or 2 to prevent that lvl 120 dinos will get more bonus lvls that you would get later in the game)

The kibble Limit in this case means that the level of the dino we spawn in is limited by how much kibble it would need to be tamed on 1x rates. For example if the kibble limit is 50 and you want a raptor which only needs 20 at lvl 120 to be tamed this would result in us beeing able to spawn in and tame the raptor at lvl 120 for you. In case of a rex 50 kibble would only suffice to tame a lvl 90 at max, a lvl 91 would need 51, which means the highest level we could spawn in would be 90. Kibble limit does not mean that we give you the kibble and force you to find and tame the dino yourself, it only limits which level the dino we spawn and tame for you can have.

The polls have been edited so that you can cancel your old vote and vote again on this case.
